This 1980s office building required a restrained and economical upgrade to secure tenants. The upgrade focused on transforming exterior facades, the main entry and lobby, and completely replacing and re-planning the toilet areas on all floors. The south facades’ dark curtain wall glazing was replaced with contemporary transparent glazing. On the western facade, aluminium louvres control afternoon solar gain and glare, and provide a striking visual statement. Entryways and lobbies were stripped and reformed with hardwearing contemporary finishes. Auckland, 2009
